Depression

Depression is a mental health disorder.

It can affect a person’s mood, behavior, and overall quality of life.

A combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors can cause depression. It can also be triggered by stressful life events such as losing a loved one, a relationship breakdown, or financial difficulties.

You’re not alone.

Symptoms of depression can vary from person to person, but common symptoms include:

  • Persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or emptiness
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed.
  • Difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much.
  • Fatigue or loss of energy
  • Changes in appetite or weight
  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions.
  • Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
  • Thoughts of suicide or self-harm

Depression is a treatable condition, and several effective treatments are available, including medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. It’s essential to seek help from a healthcare professional if you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of depression.
