Danielle Turner, LCSW
Executive Clinical Director
Danielle W. Turner is a multi-awarding winning Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a luminary in holistic healing. Danielle holds a master’s degree of social work from Springfield College and is a certified trauma-informed individual and group therapist trained in cognitive behavioral therapy. Danielle has over 20 years’ experience in the mental health field working in various areas such as child protection, in-home therapy, outpatient treatment, psychiatric treatment and facilitating Partial Hospitalization Programs and Intensive Outpatient Programs.
As the President and Clinical Director of PMH CT P.C., Danielle ensures the mental health practice is dedicated to nurturing the wellbeing of adults, children, and families. Her work transcends traditional therapy, embracing a holistic approach that promotes healing for the mind, body, and soul. Known affectionately as “Danielle The Self-Care Advocate,” Danielle empowers women to embrace self-care as a fundamental right, guiding them toward peace and inner harmony. Reaching a global audience as the host of The Purple Butterfly Podcast, she delves into the intricacies of mental health, offering insights and inspiration for a life of wellness.
Danielle’s commitment to wellbeing is exemplified through her role as a best-selling author and a host for her international wellness retreats for women. Through these platforms, she shares her expertise and passion, inspiring a community of women to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery, self-care, and healing.
In 2021, Danielle was named one of Connecticut’s100 Women of Color for community service. Danielle has been awarded the 2022 Mental Health Innovator of the Year award and the 2022 Phenomenal Women in Business award. In 2023, Danielle was awarded the Ultimate Business Therapist, Social Media Influencer award. Danielle is a graduate of the Knownpeuners Accelerated Business Program for BIPOC small business owners, a graduate of the NSADQ Milestone Business Program for women entrepreneurs, a graduate of Cornell University Women in Business Program and a graduate of the Goldman Sachs One Million, Black Women in Business program.
Danielle is also a member of the WISE Network and The Abundant Therapist Collective, where she embodies the spirit of inspiration, support, and empowerment, advocating for a world where self-care is not just an act of survival, but a thriving state of being.
Sophia Brown, LCSW
Clinical Supervisor

I’m here to support you and your family with compassion, clinical expertise, and a deep commitment to your overall well-being. I’m Sophia A. Brown, LCSW, a Clinical Supervisor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and families heal and thrive.
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and grounded in connection and empowerment. I specialize in supporting young people and families facing emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns. With an understanding of how family systems, environment, and lived experience shape well-being, I work to help clients access support without stigma and build resilience that lasts.
Before joining PMH CT PC, I spent nearly two decades in clinical and leadership roles. I also spend much of this time at The Institute of Living in Hartford, CT, one of the nation’s leading mental health institutions, providing emergency services, crisis intervention, outpatient care, and team supervision. My commitment to youth and community wellness also led me to establish The SoeBrown Scholarship Foundation in 2022, which supports young adults managing mental health challenges as they pursue their goals.
In our work together, my goal is to create a safe, collaborative, and supportive space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, behavioral concerns, school challenges, or big emotions, or your family needs help navigating life’s transitions, we will work together to build tools, confidence, and lasting emotional wellness.

Kevin Brown, LCSW
Therapist
Kevin Brown is a Licensed Master Social Worker with extensive experience in the field of social work. Throughout his diverse professional journey in the mental health sector, he has developed a strong background in providing clinical care and support to juveniles and adults.
Kevin has served as the interim clinical director for adolescent males involved with the Department of Youth Services. In this role, he created comprehensive treatment plans for youth who had committed criminal offenses as a Treatment Clinician. His expertise includes individual, group, and family counseling, and he has led Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Substance Abuse groups.
In addition to his work with adolescents, Kevin has significant experience in adult mental health services. He demonstrates a commitment to family well-being through his role as a Fatherhood Family Support Provider at First Choice Health Centers.
Kevin holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Saint Joseph and a Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Connecticut State University. He is dedicated to helping individuals address their mental health challenges, delivering compassionate and effective clinical care to foster positive change, and supporting clients in reaching their full potential.
Ann-Marie Ramsaroop, LCSW, ECMHS
Therapist
Ann-Marie Ramsaroop is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist (ECMHS) with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through a compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach. She specializes in early childhood mental health, attachment-focused interventions, anxiety, trauma, family dynamics, and emotional wellness across the lifespan.
Ann-Marie has provided clinical services in a variety of settings, including community mental health, telehealth, schools, early childhood education programs, and family support services. She has experience conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating individual and family therapy, and providing psychoeducational training for parents, caregivers, educators, and community professionals. Her work emphasizes collaboration, resilience-building, and empowering clients to achieve meaningful and lasting change.
Prior to joining Powell Mental Health, Ann-Marie served as a Head Start Mental Health Consultant and Clinical Supervisor, where she supported children, families, and educators while leading clinical staff and developing mental health programming. She also provides telehealth counseling services to adolescents and adults, addressing a range of emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns.
Ann-Marie earned a Master of Social Work and a Master of Science in Infant Mental Health from Adelphi University, as well as a Master of Arts in Religion with a concentration in Women, Gender, and Sexuality from Yale Divinity School. Her unique educational background allows her to integrate clinical expertise with a deep understanding of human development, relationships, culture, and identity.
Travis Cooley, LMSW

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I am a dedicated social worker and advocate passionate about supporting individuals through life’s most difficult challenges. My work has centered on serving diverse and often underserved communities—including veterans, youth aging out of foster care, and the elderly—through compassionate, evidence-based care. I provide individual and group counseling services, supporting clients with behavioral health needs, substance use challenges, and complex life transitions.
I utilize a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. My practice is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in supportive and affirming spaces.

Wanda I. Reyes-Dawes, LPC

Wanda I. Reyes-Dawes is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than three decades of experience dedicated to education, counseling, mentorship, and empowering individuals to achieve personal and professional growth. As a proud first-generation lifelong learner, Wanda is passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges while fostering resilience, healing, and self-discovery.
Wanda has served in the educational and counseling profession for over 30 years and has spent more than two decades at CT State Manchester Community College supporting traditional and non-traditional students. Throughout her career, she has worked as an academic advisor, counselor, mentor, and former Director of the Advising/Counseling Center, where she provided guidance and support to individuals from diverse backgrounds facing academic, emotional, and life transitions.
Her clinical approach is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and advocacy. Wanda is especially passionate about suicide prevention awareness, mental health education, and supporting individuals impacted by trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and addiction-related challenges. She is a certified instructor in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and she is also a certified SMART Recovery Meeting Facilitator.
Wanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Administration from Springfield College and a Master of Science in Counseling from Central Connecticut State University. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising from Kansas State University and the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
In addition to her clinical and educational work, Wanda is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Connecticut Counseling Association (CCA), the American College Counseling Association (ACCA), the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
Wanda is deeply committed to helping individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey. She believes in leading with empathy, authenticity, and hope while creating safe spaces where clients can thrive and reach their fullest potential.
Matthew Sibley-Jett, Intern
Intern
As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern, I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges. My experience working in special education and behavioral support settings has allowed me to build strong relationships with individuals facing emotional, behavioral, developmental, and mental health concerns.
My approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and person-centered. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered to grow. I have experience working with individuals managing anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, and other social-emotional challenges.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Springfield College and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Keene State College. Through my work and training, I am committed to helping individuals build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and achieve their personal goals.
